Delivery and Shipping Policy
(Local Fleet, Couriers, Partnered Distribution and Customer Collections)
- Purpose
This policy outlines how MACS Automotive Air Conditioning (“MACS Automotive” / “MACS Auto”) manages the delivery, shipping and collection of goods. It clarifies delivery methods, responsibilities, risk transfer and customer obligations to ensure clear expectations and efficient order fulfilment.
- Scope
This policy applies to all orders supplied by MACS Automotive, including:
- Trade account customers. Both, Payment Terms and COD.
- Cash, COD and prepaid customers.
- Orders placed in‑branch, telephonically, via email, what’s app, online portal or payment links.
- Delivery Methods Offered
MACS Automotive offers multiple delivery and collection options depending on customer location, order value, urgency and product type.
3.1 Local Deliveries – MACS Automotive Fleet
- Available in select regions serviced directly by MACS Automotive vehicles.
- Delivery schedules and cut‑off times are branch‑specific.
- Same‑day or next‑day delivery may be offered subject to availability.
- Proof of delivery (POD) will be obtained upon receipt.
3.2 Courier Deliveries
- Used for regional, national and outlying deliveries.
- Courier selection may be at MACS Automotive’s discretion unless otherwise agreed.
- Estimated delivery times are provided in good faith and are not guaranteed.
- POD will be provided where available from the courier.
- Waybill can be made available upon request.
3.3 Partnered Distribution (Sister Company Deliveries)
- In selected areas / regions deliveries may be facilitated via a partnered sister company.
- These deliveries follow agreed service routes and schedules.
- Once handed over to the partner, delivery timelines and POD are subject to partner operations.
3.4 Outsourced / Customer‑Requested Couriers
- Where customers request delivery to outlying areas or nominate a specific courier, MACS Automotive may arrange this on the customer’s behalf.
- Courier costs will be for the customer’s account unless agreed otherwise.
- MACS Automotive acts as a facilitator only and is not responsible for courier performance once goods are dispatched.
- MACS Automotive is further not to held liable for Courier Errors.
3.5 Customer Collection (Own Fleet or Courier)
- Customers may collect goods using their own vehicles or nominated couriers.
- Collection may be from a MACS Automotive branch or designated collection point.
- Customers or their couriers must present valid order reference and identification.
- Couriers arrange / booked by the customer need to clear as to their collection on arrival, MACS Automotive cannot be held responsible for couriers not collecting all the parcels and in addition cannot be held liable for errors as a result of courier errors.
- Goods are deemed delivered once released to the customer or their agent / courier.
- Delivery Charges
- Delivery charges may apply depending on location, order size and delivery method.
- Charges will be communicated at order confirmation.
- MACS Automotive reserves the right to revise delivery fees without prior notice.
- Risk and Ownership Transfer
- Risk transfers to the customer:
- Upon delivery to the specified address, or
- Upon collection by the customer or their appointed courier.
- MACS Automotive is not liable for loss, theft or damage once risk has transferred.
- Inspection on Delivery or Collection
Customers are required to:
- Inspect goods immediately upon delivery or collection (where appropriate).
- Note any shortages or visible damage on the delivery note or POD.
- Report discrepancies within 24 hours of receipt.
Failure to do so may invalidate claims for shortages or damage.
- Delivery Delays and Limitations
- Delivery timelines are estimates and may be affected by factors beyond our control, including:
- Traffic, weather, industrial action or courier delays.
- Incorrect delivery details provided by the customer.
- Access restrictions at delivery sites.
MACS Automotive will make reasonable efforts to assist but cannot be held liable for consequential losses caused by delivery delays.
- Failed Deliveries
- Where delivery cannot be completed due to customer unavailability or incorrect details:
- Re‑delivery costs may apply.
- Goods may be returned to branch pending further instruction.
- Terms reflecting payment on deliveries, should payment not be concluded the goods will be returned to our offices.
- Refrigerants, Hazardous and Regulated Goods
- Delivery of refrigerants and regulated products is subject to legal and carrier restrictions.
- Certain items may not qualify for courier delivery and may require branch collection or specialised transport where applicable.
- Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
Nothing in this policy limits customer rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA) where applicable.
- Policy Governance
MACS Automotive reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. The version applicable at the time of order placement will apply.
